Top Prop Firms in 2026: Our Ranked Shortlist

We score prop firms on track record, rule fairness, cost, payout record and platforms using our published methodology. Data was verified in November 2026; rules change often, so always check the firm's current terms.

1. FTMO: best overall (91/100)

Operating since 2015, with a static 10% drawdown on its 2-Step challenge, a refundable fee and a 4.8 Trustpilot score from more than 55,000 reviews. FTMO also completed its acquisition of the broker OANDA in December 2025. Read the FTMO review.

2. The5ers: best for long-term scaling (86/100)

One of the longest-running forex prop firms, with a scaling plan that can reach a 100% split. Sources disagree on some refund and drawdown details, so confirm before buying. Read the review.

3. FundedNext: best platform choice (85/100)

Supports MT4, MT5, cTrader, Match-Trader and futures platforms, and has accepted US traders on Match-Trader since November 2025. Rules change frequently. Read the review.

4. Funding Pips (79/100)

Low entry prices and a choice of payout cycles, but the fee isn't refundable and funded accounts close before weekends. Read the review.

5. Topstep: best for transparent futures (78/100)

Publishes its own pass rates (16.8% of Combines passed in 2025). Subscription pricing adds up if you take a while to pass. Read the review.

How to choose

  • Drawdown type: static drawdown is easier to manage than trailing. See why traders fail challenges.
  • Daily loss limit: make sure your normal losing streak fits inside it. Test it with the drawdown calculator.
  • Payout record: read the most recent negative reviews, not just the star rating.
  • Platform: pick a firm that supports the platform you already use.

Prop firm challenges are paid evaluations. Most traders don't pass, and funded accounts are usually simulated.
