Trading Academy

Free, step-by-step courses that take you from your first trade to a tested plan. No sign-up, no paywall.

How the Trading Academy is structured

Courses are grouped into three levels. Beginner courses assume no prior knowledge and cover the basics of markets and charts. Intermediate courses cover risk management, position sizing and building a trading plan. Advanced courses cover backtesting, portfolio risk and trading psychology. Work through them in order, or start at the level that matches your experience.

Learn, then practise on a demo account

Practise each lesson on a free demo account before you risk real money. Pair the courses with our free calculators to plan every trade's risk, and move on to the strategy guides once you are ready to follow a written set of rules.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Trading Academy really free?

Yes. Every course is free to read with no account, email or payment required. We earn money from clearly labelled affiliate links and ads, not from courses.

Where should a complete beginner start?

Start with the first Beginner course and go in order. Each course builds on the one before it.

How long does it take to learn to trade?

Understanding the basics takes a few weeks of study. Becoming consistently profitable usually takes much longer, and many traders never get there. Practise on a demo account and keep a trading journal while you learn.

Do the courses cover forex, stocks and crypto?

Yes. Most concepts, such as risk management, chart reading and trading psychology, apply to every market.
