The5ers vs FundedNext: the short answer
Choose The5ers if you value a long track record and a scaling path toward a 100% profit split, and you trade on MT5, cTrader or TradingView without expert advisors. Choose FundedNext if you want a lower phase 1 target than The5ers' New model, more platforms including futures, or access from the US. The scores are close, so the right pick depends on how you trade.
Quick verdict: The5ers scores 86/100 and ranks 2nd in our prop firm ranking. FundedNext scores 85/100 and ranks 3rd. The5ers leads on track record (26/30 vs 23/30). Costs and profit split
The5ers starts at $69 for a 10k High Stakes challenge. FundedNext starts at $59.99, but that price is for a 6k Stellar 2-Step, so the two are not directly comparable. Our data does not include $100k prices for either firm. Both refund the fee: FundedNext with your first reward on the 2-Step, while sources disagree on exactly how The5ers' refund works.
Both start at an 80% split. The5ers raises it toward 100% as you scale, with funding of $500k on High Stakes and a $4M scaling path. FundedNext reaches 95% through a paid add-on, and it advertises up to $4M, which we record as a marketing claim. If you plan to stay with one firm for a long time, The5ers' scaling plan is the clearer route to a higher split.
Rules and drawdown
Both firms set a 5% daily loss limit and a 10% maximum drawdown. FundedNext's drawdown is static. For The5ers, sources disagree on whether it is static or trailing, so confirm on its site. The5ers offers two target models in phase 1: 10% (New) or 8% (Classic), then 5%. FundedNext asks for 8% then 5%. The5ers needs 3 profitable days; sources conflict on whether FundedNext requires 5 days or none.
Worked example: a $100k account
- Phase 1 target: $10,000 at The5ers (New, 10%) or $8,000 (Classic, 8%); $8,000 at FundedNext (8%).
- Phase 2 target: 5% of $100,000 = $5,000 at both.
- Daily loss limit: 5% of $100,000 = $5,000 at both.
- Maximum drawdown: 10% of $100,000 = $10,000, so a static floor sits at $90,000.
With FundedNext's static drawdown, the floor stays at $90,000 even if you reach $105,000, leaving $15,000 of room. If a firm instead trails the $10,000 gap behind your highest balance, the same $105,000 peak would lift the floor to $95,000 and leave only $10,000 of room. That is why the static-or-trailing question for The5ers matters. Read trailing vs static drawdown and test your numbers in the drawdown calculator.
Trading rules
The5ers allows news trading except for 2 minutes around high-impact releases, allows weekend holding and reportedly does not allow expert advisors. FundedNext allows news trading under a 40% news-profit rule and allows weekend holding. If you run an EA, FundedNext is the safer choice based on our data.
Platforms and access
The5ers supports MT5, cTrader and TradingView. FundedNext supports those plus MT4, Match-Trader, Tradovate and NinjaTrader, and offers futures accounts. FundedNext has accepted US traders on Match-Trader since November 2025. Our data does not record The5ers' US policy. See our platform comparison if you are unsure which terminal suits you.
Payouts
The5ers pays bi-weekly. FundedNext pays the first reward after 21 days and then every 14 days. In practice both run on two-week cycles once you are funded.
Who should choose each
- Choose The5ers if you trade manually, want a firm operating since 2016 and plan to scale toward a 100% split over time.
- Choose FundedNext if you use EAs, MT4, Match-Trader or futures platforms, prefer the 8% phase 1 target, or trade from the US.
Concerns to weigh
The5ers: sources disagree on its refund mechanics and drawdown type, EAs are reportedly not allowed, and its Trustpilot figure comes from secondary sources rather than our own check.
FundedNext: rules change often, some pricing differs between the help center and checkout, and sources conflict on minimum trading days. Re-read the current terms before each purchase.
